Venice has been known as “La Dominante”, “La Serenissima”, “Queen of the Adriatic”, “City of Water”, “City of Masks”, “City of Bridges”, “The Floating City”, and “City of Canals”. The lagoon and a part of the city are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The city is almost always on everyone’s “must see” list. Venice remains a very popular tourist destination, a major cultural centre, and has been ranked many times the most beautiful city in the world. It has been described by the Times Online as one of “Europe’s most romantic cities” and by The New York Times as “undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man”.
After this wonderful ride of train, we step out from railway station and what we see “Grand Canale”. There are public transport in the name of water buses and water taxi’s.
Have a look of view out side station :
After check-in in hotel and lunch, we first see the city through “Grand canale” in Water Bus.
In the above clip we pass through beautiful “Rialto Bridge” which is the oldest of the four bridges spanning the Grand Canal in Venice and significant tourist attraction in the city.
In the above clip we pass through beautiful “St. Mark’s Square”.
After water bus, we decided to see this magnificent city by walking.
Here we had our dinner – Pizza and Gelato
Now was the time to buy some souvenirs and keep beautiful memory of Venice with us forever.
By now time was around 9 PM and we head toward “Saint Mark’s Basilica“, “St Mark’s Campanile” and “Doge’s Palace” all are close by.
After enjoying music we headed to Doge’s Palace and time was 2 AM.
Venice is the place where I definitely want to come again and next time for more time. But Venice is the place where to say “Good Bye” was never easy so we woke up early and walk on the water front before leaving Venice, Italy.
Hope I again visit this beautiful city.
